Back Me

9 Sacred Fort (Bet Now: $7.50) is the one for me in the opener. Ciaron Maher trained juvenile that resumed in the rich Inglis 2YO at Scone where he got back to near last in the run but charged to the line late and was quite good in defeat behind Overfull. Bred to swim, fitter, has run well at this level and higher, can settle closer…hard to beat.

Danger

7 Railway Man (Bet Now: $3.90) is a well bred son of I Am Invincible for Chris Waller that resumes. This guy debuted on the Kenso on Jan 31 when hard in the market but didn’t really fire after sitting on speed and just tired late behind Getafix. Been given a good improvement and his trial work to get ready has been more than encouraging.

Long Shot

4 Justice Warrior (Bet Now: $7.00) has done little wrong in two career outings for Kristen Buchanan and is one of the key chances. Did more than enough on debut over 1100m here behind Toque before going to Gosford when wide no cover on speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get the win when second to Concordia Wind. Better run in transit, he can win.

Race 2. (12:50) The Agency Real Estate Plate 1250m

Back Me

2 And Found (Bet Now: $4.80) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. This girl had two career outings in the Autumn to start her career where she ran okay races but was safely held, albeit in races that had far greater depth than what she faces here. Given a good break and I thought her recent trial at Hawkesbury when ridden with a sit, she sizzled.

Danger

7 Madrina (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) looks the leader and will take running down, especially if the track is playing on speed. She attempted to lead throughout at Canterbury last time and gave a decent enough kick but couldn’t quite see it through, proving no match late for impressive Tehina. Down in the weights after the claim, she’ll give a good sight.

Long Shot

9 Rowena (Bet Now: $21.00) is a daughter of Lonhro for John Thompson that is on debut. This girl has had two trials this prep in readiness for start one, both over the short course, and for mine she hasn’t moved too bad. There is depth to this race I feel but she does look like she has some form of ability so watch the market.

Race 3. (13:25) James Squire Handicap (64) 1250m

Back Me

7 Equipage (Bet Now: $3.50) has a tricky gate to overcome but she does look above average for James Cummings. This girl resumed in a maiden at Hawkesbury over 1100m where she got better as the race went on, knuckling down with purpose late to win and win well. Extra 150m is fine, she gets J Mac and with luck from the draw, she’ll take beating.

Danger

4 Fire Tribe (Bet Now: $11.00) is a definite improver for Joe Pride. He ran over this track/distance just under two weeks ago where he got back in the run and stuck on well enough without really threatening behind Shehasattitude. The big key here is Blinkers back on and when this stable has Blinkers applied to their runners, they rarely run poor.

Long Shot

3 Kirkuk (Bet Now: $13.00) has been hit and miss this time in but he has won two races. First up he was a rank outsider when finishing best at Hawkesbury before a down the track effort at Hawkesbury before going to Goulburn where he gave them a start and a beating in a very good finale. If he can use the inside gate to advantage, he could be a knockout hope.

Race 4. (14:00) Precise Air Handicap (64) 1550m

Back Me

6 Missile Seeker (Bet Now: $10.00) isn’t the most reliable horse going around but I do think he is going well enough to take this out. Finished off with purpose two back at Newcastle when third to Dimaggio before going to this track/distance when back in the run and made up some headway without really threatening behind Presser. He has that 1550m run under the belt now and gets the patient hands of J Collett to steer.

Danger

1 Vanquished (Bet Now: $6.00) looks the leader and will prove hard to run down if this track is playing up/in. Led and felt the pinch fresh on the Kenso behind Captain Furai before going to Kembla where he led and gave a decent enough kick but couldn’t quite see it through when fourth to Tartana. Third up and hard fit, he looks the leader and will take running down.

Long Shot

3 Tannenberg (Bet Now: $18.00) is a knockout chance for Chris Waller. Got back and did enough late when resuming at Newcastle behind Dimaggio before going to Hawkesbury where he again got back in the run and made up headway without threatening behind Monte Maximus. Maps to do no work and his best is good enough.

Race 5. (14:35) Dundeel @ Arrowfield Handicap (72) 1550m

Back Me

5 Eastern Glow (Bet Now: $5.50) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Keith Dryden trained mare that was a few weeks between runs when racing over 1460m at Queanbeyan. She was tardy away and sat last early before making up ground and while she was never threatening, her finale was sound. If she can jump clean and settle closer, she takes beating I say in what looks a winnable race.

Danger

7 Elsie May (Bet Now: $5.50) is a big improver for Ciaron Maher. She resumed over 1300m at Warwick Farm where she got back to near last in the run but made up nice ground late in a solid return behind the talented enigma that is Able Willie. Fitter and up in trip, J Mac on, she appeals as a key chance.

Long Shot

6 Monarchs Brae (Bet Now: $9.00) is dangerous if he gets a cheap run on speed. He resumed at this track/distance where he lobbed outside the speed and tried hard but being first up, I just think condition gave way late behind Presser. Better for the run, should press forward and his best is good enough.

Race 6. (15:10) Ranvet Handicap (72) 1250m

Back Me

8 Need Some Luck (Bet Now: $4.20) looks one of the better bets on the card for mine. Team Snowden trained galloper that resumed during the Scone Carnival where he got back to near last in the run but caught the eye late with his finale behind the in form Elson Boy. Fitter, has a gate to settle much closer in the run and with good upside to come, rates highly for me.

Danger

3 Accredited (Bet Now: $4.00) has returned well and is a key chance. He resumed over 1100m at Warwick Farm where he was on speed throughout and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job when third to impressive winner Fleetwood, who would be odds on against these, so I am thinking that form reads well, maps nicely and has upside.

Long Shot

4 Divine Glory (Bet Now: $21.00) is an improver for Team Snowden. She resumed on Coast Day at Newcastle where she wasn’t 100% happy on the bog track but she stayed on and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Sir Ravanelli. Maps perfect and with Blinkers back on, there does appear to be more intent.

Race 7. (15:45) Kia Ora Prague Handicap (88) 1100m

Back Me

16 Smashing Eagle (Bet Now: $10.00) is flying I feel for Ryan/Alexiou but just hasn’t really had a chance to showcase it. Very forgiving of his Scone run given he was right up against the inside, which was quicksand, so forgive and forget. Run prior at Hawkesbury was a beauty and in a fast run race, I think he can bounce back hard.

Danger

14 Passeggiata (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is a speed demon for Bjorn Baker who will look the winner for a long way. That was indeed the case a fortnight back at Randwick and gave a strong kick from the front but had no answers for the finale of The Black Cloud. Her jump/run racing style gives herself every chance to see this out and win.

Long Shot

1 Ka Bling (Bet Now: $15.00) is a talented animal for Team Snowden that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Feb 17 in a Listed race at Flemington when far from disgraced in defeat behind Makram, a race noted because it was THAT race that involved Jimmysstar and Craig Williams. 1100m is on the short side for Ka Bling but his trial work has been more than encouraging.

Race 8. (16:20) TAB Handicap (72) 1900m

Back Me

12 Chateaux Park (Bet Now: $9.00) will do me each way in the get out. He was given nearly the ride of the year from Tommy Berry at this track/distance last time out from the wide gate and looked the winner for certain parts of the straight but he couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second to Frankly Elegant. Think if he can settle a pair closer, maybe two, he’ll take beating.

Danger

7 Frankly Elegant (Bet Now: $3.90) looks the leader and will take running down. Credit to her in winning the race mentioned above. She was there to be run down but she found under pressure and Hippo really lifted her late when it counted. Not sure what upside there is left but she only has to hold her form and she’ll be around the mark.

Long Shot

4 Go Troppo (Bet Now: $11.00) has a good record at the trip and despite the tricky gate, he’s in with a shout. He ran over the mile at Warwick Farm last time where he got off the speed and kept chipping away but was never really a factor when third to Inquiring Minds, who ran a howler on Wednesday but that was a winning form reference via Time Quest. 1900m is okay I feel and with luck from the gate, he’ll be threatening.
