100 jobs for Dundalk at Pentagon Technologies

Pentagon Technologies Group has said that 100 jobs will be created at its facility in Dundalk, Co Louth over the next five years.

The company is planning a new precision parts cleaning facility in the town.

The company, which has its headquarters in Japan, develops and provides products and services to improve the use of semi-conductor manufacturing equipment.

It says the new facility represents an expansion of services to the semiconductor industry in Ireland.

Construction is already under way for the facility in the IDA Science and Technology Park in Dundalk, and it is expected to be operational in the third quarter of this year.

CEO Dave Christeson said that Pentagon has been operating in Ireland for the last 20 years, supporting new semi-conductor fab construction.

He said that the company is looking forward to becoming a major employer in the Dundalk area.

Minister for Enterprise Simon Coveney welcomed the company’s expansion of its Dundalk operation.

“Pentagon Technologies are leading the way in both Ireland and across Europe in providing innovative products and services to the thriving semiconductor and tech industries.

“This announcement will create over 100 manufacturing jobs to the north east region and underscores the IDA and Government’s priority for a balanced regional development throughout the country.

“I wish all the team at Pentagon Technologies the best for this new initiative,” Minister Coveney said.

IDA Ireland CEO Michael Lohan said the announcement is a “substantial boost for the local economy”.
