13th Meeting of the SEARHEF Working Group (Virtual) 02 July 2024

The thirteenth meeting of the Working Group for governance of the South-East Asia Regional Health Emergency Fund was conducted via video link on 2 July 2024.  The nominated Working Group members represent the Member States and provide overall guidance on policy and utilization of this Regional fund. SEARHEF assisted Member States to ensure immediate health response following an emergency notified by the country. 

The objectives of the meeting were to review utilization of SEARHEF under Response and Preparedness streams; update Working Group members on the review undertaken and discuss the scope for expansion of SEARHEF including improving efficiency and accountability.

The recommendations of the Working Group were on increasing the corpus of the Fund, engaging with partners and donors for mobilization of additional resources and steps for improving efficiency of operations, transparency, and accountability. The recommendations will be tabled for the consideration of Regional Committee during it upcoming session in October 2024 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
