The Esprit Alpine trim level tops the family. For this version, Renault asks for a minimum of £27,995 ($35,640). Some of the highlights include the larger 19-inch alloys, a two-tone paint finish with a contrasting black roof, glossy black window frame, special styling on the inside, aluminum sports pedals, electric front seats with heating, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control with speed limiter, and others.
Powering the 2024 Captur Evolution and Techno is a 1.0L TCe 90 gasoline engine. The three-cylinder unit produces 89 hp (90 ps/67 kW), enabling 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in 14.3 seconds and a 104 mph (167 kph) top speed. Renault says it returns between 47.1 and 47.9 UK mpg (39.2-39.9 US mpg/6-5.9 l/100 km) on the WLTP cycle.
The Captur Techno and Evolution can also be equipped with the E-Tech Hybrid 145 powertrain, which is the sole choice for the Esprit Alpine. The self-charging assembly features a 1.6-liter engine, a tiny electric motor, and a small 1.26 kWh battery pack. It has 143 hp (145 ps/107 kW), allowing the diamond brand’s subcompact crossover to reach 62 mph in 10.6 seconds and top out at 106 mph (171 kph). The fuel consumption is rated at 60.1 UK mpg (50 US mpg/4.7 l/100 km).
Renault’s 2024 Captur is a facelift of the second generation that came out five years ago. It is based on the CMF-B HS construction, the same one used by the Clio, Arkana, Nissan Juke, Note, Mitsubishi AXS, and Colt. It is offered with multiple powertrain options depending on the market, and all versions are front-wheel drive exclusively with manual and automatic transmissions.
