Heading into Friday’s second round at Pinehurst No. 2, World No. 2 Rory McIlroy finds himself tied for the early lead. McIlroy birdied his final hole to complete a five-under 65 opening round. The only player who could match the 2011 U.S. Open champion’s form was Patrick Cantlay.

But McIlroy and Cantlay have plenty of company hot on their trails, including young phenom Ludvig Aberg and 2020 U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau.
