He’s done a super job this time in for Matty Ellerton, doing his best racing at Sandown with a couple of wins over 1000m there, the latest being two weeks ago when leading throughout and was quite dominant. Good racing style, hard fit and in form. Appeals.

4 Husk (Bet Now: $4.00) hasn’t done much wrong in two runs this time in and appeals as a key threat. Two runs over 1000m at Sandown this prep, winning first up before a fourth to Blue Renegade two weeks back where she got back and did make up ground without threatening. She becomes a player if she can settle closer.

Long Shot

3 Landmark (Bet Now: $14.00) looks to have returned in really good order for the Kennewell/Yeomans camp. He defied an alarming betting drift to win fresh at Bendigo, getting a good run near the speed and fought on strongly late in the piece to get the job done. Small field, has good upside/improvement, he’s in with a shout.

1 Mrs Chrissie (Bet Now: $3.70) is a beauty for Ciaron Maher and does have a liking for Caulfield. She has raced at Sandown her past couple, the latest being a strong win two weeks ago when on speed throughout before being clicked up and she was impressive late in winning. Creeping up in the weights, but hard to knock her.

8 Kin (Bet Now: $3.00) is a daughter of Impending for James Cummings that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since Feb 24 over this track/distance when a closing third to Twin Perfection, who was flying at the time. She is a mare who can sprint well on the fresh side and resuming in a Mares race, she appeals.

Long Shot

6 Waverider Buoy (Bet Now: $7.50) can win without surprising. This mare resumed on testing ground at Randwick where she got a fair way back but loomed to win and dashed, but first up on the ground, condition just gave way when fourth to Fleetwood. That form reads well, maps to settle closer…dangerous.

5 Golden Crusader (Bet Now: $3.80) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Price/Kent trained gelding that ran over the mile at Sandown last time when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a decent sight but couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by a very much in form Hard To Cross. Hard fit now and up in trip, he appeals.

4 Trosettee (Bet Now: $4.60) is bursting to win one for Patrick Payne. Looked like that win could have arrived for him four weeks ago at this track/distance but in a blanket finish, he couldn’t quite get there when a narrow third to Foujita San. If he can use the inside gate to advantage and settle closer, he takes beating.

Long Shot

1 Gregolimo (Bet Now: $8.00) is very capable of being in the finish if he found something near his best form. He ran over 1800m at Sandown two weeks back where he got off the speed and while he was never threatening, he stuck on and wasn’t too bad in defeat. Back up in trip, can settle closer and his best from the Spring is good enough to be dangerous.

12 Valley King (Bet Now: $4.60) has to be given another look. Patrick Payne trained gelding that ran over 2000m at Mornington last time where he was too bad to be true, finishing tailed off behind Touristic, but was found to have had his tongue over the bit, so a total forgive. Tick over trial was pretty good and prior form suggested a win was near.

13 Torranzino (Bet Now: $3.60) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. Paul Preusker trained gelding that ran over the mile during the Swan Hill Carnival and was as game as ever but just found one better in a nice horse, Unseen Ruler. Hard fit now and up to 2000m, he’s in the mix.

Long Shot

3 Deepstrike (Bet Now: $27.00) has been a frustrating horse to follow throughout time because he has shown good talent but consistency hasn’t been his strong suit. He ran behind Cadmus two weeks back over 1800m at Sandown when back in the run and failed to make up any real headway. He has class when right, so don’t dismiss him.

3 Paradise City (Bet Now: $9.00) should appreciate getting back to 1200m and is one of the hardest to beat. This filly attempted to lead throughout over 1300m at Sandown two weeks ago and tried her guts out but couldn’t quite finish it off and tired late behind Miss Roumbini. Like her back in trip, back to the tighter track and if she can get control on speed, she takes running down.

12 Yankee One (Bet Now: $17.00) has been strong in two runs back from a spell and appeals against these. She hasn’t raced since May 29 at Canterbury when on speed throughout and she tried her guts out but just couldn’t quite see it through when a close up second to Shehasattitude. Form out of that race has been strong, good racing style and hard fit.

Long Shot

4 Sheva (Bet Now: $4.80) is a daughter of Written Tycoon for Team Hayes that resumes. Thus girl didn’t do a bad job in the Spring, highlighted by a win at this track/distance during the Spring. Horror gate to contend with so likely goes back to last, but with a drag into the race, she can launch at them late.

15 Baraqiel (Bet Now: $3.20) looks destined for better races than this. Team Corstens trained gelding that spanked his rivals last time out at Swan Hill in a very strong 78. He sat on speed and was absolutely trucking before being clicked up by Ben Allen and away he went to gap his rivals. He’s got loads of talent, good racing style and change up speed. Keen.

11 The Open (Bet Now: $4.20) is a nice horse that has come back in super order for Patrick Payne. 3/3 this time in, the latest coming over 1300m on the Lakeside track where he knuckled down with purpose late to prove too strong for his rivals in another impressive display. Hard to knock him and the way he finds the line. Leading contender.

Long Shot

8 Legio Ten (Bet Now: $16.00) is dangerous with his best. Just not sure where he is at. He ran down the Flemington straight three weeks ago where he got back in the ruck and just couldn’t get involved in a disappointing effort behind Veloce Carro. Back to a bending track, his best sees him just about win this.

3 Valois (Bet Now: $7.00) looks to be in for a good prep and for mine, is the straight bat option. Cliff Brown trained gelding that resumed over 1200m at Mornington when near the speed throughout. He presented to win and looked the winner but had to settle for a second to Bossy Nic. Fitter and up in trip, kind map, rates highly.

10 Miss Roumbini (Bet Now: $2.80) is one of the key chances. Price/Kent trains this filly, who comes here off the back of a dominant win at Sandown a fortnight back over 1300m where she got into a decent spot off the speed before angling into clear air and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Leading chance.

Long Shot

6 Flying Fizz (Bet Now: $11.00) should appreciate getting back up to 1400m for Matty Williams. This girl was 1400m back to 1300m when racing two weeks ago at Sandown when back off the speed and kept finding the line in a really good effort behind Miss Roumbini, finishing second. Like her back up in trip and with a more positive steer, will take beating.

1 Fleetwood (Bet Now: $2.80) is heading in the right direction for James Cummings. Led them a merry dance first up at Warwick Farm before going to Randwick three weeks ago where he got into a lovely spot in transit before taking the front and was strong late in winning. If he can bring his Sydney form here, he wins.

8 Le Parrain (Bet Now: $6.00) is three weeks between runs for Ciaron Maher since racing over 1100m down the straight at Flemington and while he seemingly had his chance, he wasn’t too bad in defeat behind Right To Party, who had the suck run and dashed late when clear. Back to a bending track, he appeals.

Long Shot

2 Perilous Fighter (Bet Now: $27.00) can run a much improved race back to his own age. He has taken on older horses in recent times, the latest being two weeks back over 1000m at Sandown when on the plain side, failing to beat a runner home behind Mrs Chrissie. His best is good enough and back to his own age, he can bounce back.

3 Milford (Bet Now: $4.60) is three weeks between runs for Michael Moroney since racing over this trip at Flemington when getting a fair way out of his ground but finished off with purpose and was quite good in defeat behind Virtuous Circle. He has that 2000m run under the belt, can settle closer, hard to beat.

1 Smokin Romans (Bet Now: $10.00) should appreciate a rise to 2000m. Ciaron Maher trained galloper that has raced over 1800m at Sandown his past two, the latest being a fortnight back when on speed throughout and tried hard but just lacked the change up speed to finish the job behind Cadmus. Up to 2000m and back to Caulfield, class, he appeals.

Long Shot

11 Red Sun Sensation (Bet Now: $15.00) is capable with his best. Moody/Coleman trained gelding that comes through the Virtuous Circle race from three weeks back at Flemington where they rode with intent, sitting on speed and tried hard, but just couldn’t quite see it through behind the Group l placegetter. I think with a more patient steer, he can be more effective late.

6 Chorlton Lane (Bet Now: $2.25) is heading in the right direction for Ciaron Maher and for mine, is the straight bat play. 2/2 this time in, giving them a start and an absolute beating fresh at Bendigo before going to Caulfield a few weeks ago where he looked in a spot of bother but eventually got clear and class came to the fore to win. Confident he measures up.

13 Rheinberg (Bet Now: $5.50) is a beauty for Team Hayes and should be around the mark once again. He ran a close up third to Georgie Get Mad a few weeks over 1400m at Flemington where he got into a good spot near the speed and was there to win but couldn’t quite get the W. Bursting to win another race and he gets a great chance here.

11 Regardsmaree (Bet Now: $41.00) is getting on in years, his better days are likely behind him, but he still maintains a healthy zest for racing. He ran two weeks back at Sandown behind Gentleman Roy and wasn’t too bad in defeat. He got off the speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was good in defeat. One for exotics.
