Class of 2026 4-star basketball prospect Jacob Lanier will play his junior season at AZ Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona.

His move comes after leading Maumelle to the Class 5A state quarterfinals as a sophomore.

Lanier, 6-6 and 182 pounds, scored 22 points to earn MVP honors at the Pangos All-American Camp Top 30 All-Star game earlier in June. The camp featured 11 of the nation’s top prospect in the 2025, 2026 and 2027 classes.

He is rated a 4-star recruit by three of the four major recruiting services.

ESPN has Lanier listed as the No. 8 shooting guard and No. 33 overall prospect in his class. On3.com’s industry ranking has him the No. 16 shooting guard and No. 66 overall recruit.

Lanier has scholarship offers from Texas Tech, Clemson, California, Missouri, Arizona State, TCU, Ole Miss and others.

Former Arkansas coach Eric Musselman extended an offer to Lanier. He was named to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All Arkansas Preps underclassman team.
