4-star offensive lineman Dontrell Glover commits to Georgia football

Dontrell Glover, the No. 3 offensive guard in the nation, committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, opting for them over SEC rival Tennessee and former Orange Bowl opponent Florida State. The 4-star lineman’s decision follows his official visit to Athens last weekend.

Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 290 pounds, Glover plays for Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia. Although he initially planned to make his announcement on July 1, he decided to proceed.

In the 247Sports Composite, Glover is the No. 16 inside offensive lineman and the No. 285 overall recruit in the country for the class of 2025.

Glover, a Rivals250 prospect, had initially committed to Alabama but reopened his recruitment following the retirement of Nick Saban. Georgia’s offensive line coach, Stacy Searels, actively recruited Glover once he was available on the market again.

After visiting Georgia in April to observe a practice, Glover expressed appreciation for Searels’ coaching approach.

“He’s energetic, and he stays on all his players, from the top to the bottom of the depth chart,” Glover said. “Most coaches don’t know every player’s name, but he knows them all and ensures they’re in check.”

Glover now joins another former Alabama commit, Mason Short, who decommitted from the Crimson Tide at the same time and committed to Georgia in early April.

By adding Glover, Georgia now holds 14 commitments from the class of 2025. The Bulldogs class has also moved up a spot, ranking fourth in the 247Sports Team Rankings.
