A Co. Antrim man has been charged with exposing his genitals and urinating in his local Spar supermarket.

At Lisburn Magistrates Court, 55-year-old Damien Gerard James Smith was charged with six offences arising from alleged incidents on 4 June this year.

Smith, from Tonagh Drive in Lisburn, faces two charges of theft as well as single counts of assaulting police, indecent behaviour, criminal damage and outraging public decency.

The charges allege that Smith stole ham shanks and bacon from Green’s Store in the city, still laundry goods and coffee from B&M Bargains on Bow Street but also that he damaged property in the Spar shop on Longstone Street.

Smith is alleged to have used indecent behaviour in the Spar and outraged public decency by “exposing his genitals and urinating in the store of the Spar shop.”

District Judge Rose Watters remanded Smith into custody and adjourned the case to 8 July.
