75 jobs to be created if new cocktail bar gets the go-ahead | TheBusinessDesk.com
A new cocktail bar called Manahatta is set to create 75 jobs in Nottingham if plans to transform the former Red’s True Barbecue site are approved.
As we revealed last month, bar group, Arc Inspirations aims to open the venue later this year, following the group’s recent opening of the sports and karaoke bar BOX on Thurland Street last November.
The new venue will showcase an art-deco-style back bar, drawing inspiration from New York but modernised with LED moving artwork.
Manahatta’s signature mirror ball has been transformed into a giant New York-inspired ball drop, adding light and dynamic movement to the space.
Nottingham City Council needs to approve the proposed change of use and refurbishment of the building on Queen Street for the launch of Manahatta, planned for this autumn.
This is Arc’s second attempt to open in the city, with their initial plans for the former French Connection shop on Victoria Street halted due to the historic building’s listed status, and pizzeria Rudy’s subsequently moved into that location.
Arc recently secured £7m in additional funding to expedite its UK expansion, consisting of a £4m loan from HSBC UK and a £3m equity investment from shareholders, including BGF, which has supported the business since 2022.
