IU basketball 2025 recruiting target Trent Sisley is transferring to Montverde Academy

Class of 2025 in-state 4-star forward Trent Sisley announced on Monday evening he’ll spend his final season of high school at Montverde Academy in Florida.

Sisley announced that decision on his social media accounts on Monday afternoon.

The 6-foot-7 Sisley averaged 24 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.1 blocks and 1.9 steals per game this season as a junior at Heritage Hills H.S. He shot 60% from the field overall, and 35% from three on 78 attempts.

At Heritage Hills Sisley played a lot on the block, but his future in college and beyond appears to be on the wing.  Playing at Montverde with bigger teammates will help him develop into that role this season.

Indiana and head coach Mike Woodson have recently landed three recruits from Montverde — Jalen Hood-Schifino, Malik Reneau, and Liam McNeeley.

Although McNeeley obviously later had a change of heart and reopened his recruitment, IU continues to have a good relationship with the Montverde program.

This is a decision that has been in front of the Sisley family for months.  A source told The Daily Hoosier in April that several of the nation’s top prep schools wanted Sisley to join their programs.

It’s obviously not an easy decision for the Indiana native, whose father once coached at Heritage Hills, his older brother played there, and he still has a younger sibling at the school.

Sisley recently announced a final five list of potential college options — Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Iowa.  He he currently has the following visit schedule:

  • Purdue — September 6
  • Indiana — September 20
  • Notre Dame — September 28
  • Michigan State — October 12

Joining Sisley for the Indiana visit will be his Indiana Elite teammates Braylon Mullins and Malachi Moreno.  The trio led their 2025 Adidas 3SSB squad to a perfect 13-0 spring.

Sisley is the No. 76 overall player in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Average.
