Footage emerges of horror machete attack that left teen with serious injuries

Shocking footage has emerged of a horror machete attack in north Dublin that left a teenager with serious injuries – as a local councillor condemns those involved saying they have a “blatant disregard for the public.”

The horror incident happened around lunchtime on Tuesday, July 2 in Poppintree Parade, Ballymun when two males on a scrambler bike armed with a large machete and baseball bat attacked another male at a shop.

CCTV footage of the shocking incident from inside the shop shows the victim falling onto the ground inside the front door as a security guard tries to protect him.

Both the victim and security guard fall to the ground but the security guard manages to get back on his feet to prevent one of the males armed with a machete from entering the shop.

The security guard quickly closes the shop door and pulls down the shutters as the two armed males remain outside.

A still from a CCTV camera outside the shop shows the two culprits – one sitting on a scrambler bike holding a baseball bat while the second male stands behind the bike brandishing the large machete knife.
