Duo beaten in straight sets by USA pairing last night (4 July)

Isle of Man pro tennis player Billy Harris has been knocked out of the men’s doubles competition at Wimbledon 2024.

Competing alongside fellow Brit Liam Broady the duo lost out in straight sets (7-5, 7-5) to USA pairing Christopher Eubanks and Evan King in the first round.

It marks the end of Harris’ debut appearance at the grand slam after he was knocked out in the first round of the men’s singles earlier this week by Jaume Munar.

Despite defeat, the former Albany and Castletown competitor has already reached a career-high ATP world ranking of 116 in the last month following an impressive run during the grass-court season.

Since the start of June he’s reached the semi-finals in Subiton, Nottingham and Eastbourne on the ATP Challenger Tour as well as the quarter-finals of the cinch Championships at The Queen’s Club.
