Wellesley’s Michael Li brings home U14 2024 New England Junior Tennis Championship
Wellesley’s Michael Li made three a magic number at the 2024 New England Junior Tennis Championships.
He won the boys 14 & under division title as the No. 3 seed Tuesday at Amherst College, beating No. 1 seed Joshua Chen of Lexington in the final. Li was a finalist in 2022 in the boys 12 and under tournament. His victory earned him an automatic spot in the Level 2 Northeast Team Cup at the end of July. Every age group champion will be honored at the Hall of Fame Open in Newport, Rhode Island, in July.
Fellow Wellesley resident Charlotte Tai also returned home from the tournament with hardware. She reached the 12 & under final as the No. 3 seed. Tai fell to top-seeded Heidi Wang of Devens.
