Templegate’s World Pool tips and Placepot prediction with £150,000 guaranteed

THE World Pool is back for today’s Coral-Eclipse meeting at Sandown.

It’s the international tote that brings backers from across the planet into one giant pool with millions of pounds in play.

It’s operated by the Tote in the UK and you can place your bets at tote.co.uk, via the Tote app or at the booths if you are lucky enough to be out racing.

You can have your usual win and each-way bets – and there’s a good chance of beating SP with money flowing in from across the globe.

But where the World Pool really comes into its own is with the exotic bets.

British punters are getting used to them now and I like to have a Swinger whenever the World Pool is in town.

This is a bet where you need to pick two of the first three home in any order. And for £3 you have three horses running for you.

In the Coral Charge, I think LIVE IN THE DREAM will be placed along with Apollo One, while last year’s winner EQUALITY can place too.

In the Coral Challenge, let’s go for PEROTTO, POINT LYNAS and TWO TEMPTING to be among the first three horses home.

LEG 1 Pitney, Spanish Blaze

PITNEY was beaten just a neck in good company at Chester last time and would surely have won with a clearer run.

SPANISH BLAZE comes here off a course and distance win with the handicapper fair in putting him up just 4lb.

LEG 2 Live In The Dream, Apollo One

LIVE IN THE DREAM is nearing the last-chance saloon but anything like his true form would be good enough to win this. He almost tripped coming out of the stalls at Haydock last time so we’ll forgive that and his comeback in the Group 2 Temple Stakes was pretty solid. He has run well here before and handles any ground.

APOLLO ONE was second in this race 12 months ago and is rarely out of the places.

LEG 3 Point Lynas, Holloway Boy

POINT LYNAS is likely to get things his own way in front and Ed Bethell’s pace-pusher will take plenty of passing. He blasted off in front at York on his last handicap run and fought off 16 rivals over this trip. He then more than held his own in the Group 3 John Of Gaunt Stakes at Haydock. The yard continues in excellent form and can go close.

HOLLOWAY BOY was more than a little unlucky to finish fifth in the Hunt Cup and goes on any turf ground. He has solid place claims.

LEG 4 Soprano, Indelible

SOPRANO was impressive in winning the Sandringham at Royal Ascot and can follow up. Moving up to this trip unlocked improvement and there should be more to come.

INDELIBLE ‘won’ on the wrong side in the Sandringham and should get closer to the tip today. It’s early days for Ralph Beckett’s filly who should step up again.

LEG 5 City Of Troy

CITY OF TROY is on a different level to these and the Derby winner can cope with dropping in distance, especially with the likely soft ground playing to his stamina. There was give underfoot when he landed the Epsom Classic and it would be a massive upset if he doesn’t come home first.

LEG 6 Midnight Rumble, Ashariba

MIDNIGHT RUMBLE has been in fine form and won with something in hand at Lingfield last time out.

ASHARIBA took a big step forward when scoring at Leicester latest and a 4lb rise in the weights is fair.
