Lucky Lotto player scoops €1 million top prize in special Lotto raffle

One lucky Cork Lotto player has snagged a whopping €1 million in Saturday night’s special draw.

The Charleville player won the staggering top prize in the Lotto Plus Raffle after their ticket was selected at random from a once-off draw that sees the winner grab an extra €1 million on top of the €500 prize from the draw.

The winning ticket was purchased in Dunnes Stores, Charleville, Co. Cork and the winner now has 90 days to claim their prize from the Lotto headquarters.

The Lotto draw marked the third ‘guaranteed to be won’ €1 Million Lotto Plus Raffle of the year to date.

The Lotto Plus Raffle typically sees between 60 and 120 winners of €500 in every draw but for this Saturday’s draw, the National Lottery is adding a guaranteed to be won €1 million to the Lotto Plus Raffle prize fund.

Each of the tickets with the winning Lotto Plus Raffle number drawn in Saturday night’s draw was then entered into a once-off random draw where one ticket was selected to win an additional prize of €1 million, as well as the usual €500 Raffle prize. So far this year, 18 National Lottery players have become millionaires.

Meanwhile, there was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot, worth a staggering €2,421,211, but in total, over 90,000 players won prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws.
