Wimbledon LIVE: Tennis scores as Raducanu beaten by qualifier Lulu Sun
Emma Raducanu is out of Wimbledon after defeat to the qualifier Lulu Sun on Centre Court. Raducanu was bidding to reach the quarter-finals for the first time but was outpowered by her opponent, the world number 123, who won 6-2 5-7 6-2.
The 21-year-old was hampered by physical issues and called for a medical timeout following a slip on the grass just moments after forcing a third set. Sun broke immediately and amid a barrage of winners, went on to claim the biggest win of her life to reach the last eight.
Raducanu was the last British player in the singles. She had pulled out of the mixed doubles with Andy Murray on Saturday, therefore bringing the two-time champion’s Wimbledon career to a sudden end.
There was a shock yesterday as world No 1 Iga Swiatek was knocked out of Wimbledon by Yulia Putintseva, while Novak Djokovic recovered from a set down to reach the fourth round. After Raducanu’s decision to pull out of the mixed doubles, Murray has now played his final-ever match at the All England Club.

Out on Court 1, men’s No 1 seed Jannik Sinner is in action against young American star Ben Shelton. Shelton may be the busiest man in SW19 currently, with each of his first three singles matches going to five sets and he’s been playing doubles as well.
The youngster is still a ball of energy though and will relish the chance to upset the world No 1. It’s on serve at 1-1 in the early going.
