Met Éireann forecasts sunshine and showers, temperatures soar to 20 degrees

Mostly dry at first today with sunny spells, however, there will be the possibility of some heavy showers later on.

During the afternoon and evening, cloud will build in Munster and south Leinster with rain set to follow.

Temperatures will hit the 20 degrees today for the first time this week, before getting a little colder tonight at 9 degrees.

There will be similar conditions tomorrow with cloudy, rain and drizzle, at first, most persistent in the southeast, east and northeast.

However, the national forecaster has warned that this could lead to the possibility of spot flooding.

It will be driest in the southwest and west, especially later in the day with a good deal of sunshine.

Another very warm day on Wednesday with highest temperatures of 20 degrees, before a clear and dry night of 13 degrees.

Keeping in line with much of the week, Wednesday will see outbreaks of rain and drizzle through much of the day.

A mix of cloud, sunny spells and well scattered showers elsewhere, with the best of the sunshine to be enjoyed in Munster and Connacht.

Temperatures will continue to hit 20 degrees, dropping to between 9 to 13 degrees during a mostly wet night.

Thursday will be the outlier as we see temperatures drop below 20 degrees for the first time but only ever so slightly to 19 degrees.

It will be mostly cloudy at first with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, mainly over the northern half of the country.

Good spells of sunshine will develop during the morning, with rain to follow, so make sure to bring an umbrella.

Friday will be dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells with just a few light showers about.

Good news for the start of the weekend as temperatures are to soar once again to 20 degrees, with the possibility of beach weekend.

Met Éireann has added to that good news saying that current indications suggest that high pressure will continue to dominate next weekend.
