Are Uma and Wil from Love Island still together now?

Love Island‘s Uma has become a firm favourite with fans in recent weeks, so it was shocking (disappointing, heartbreaking, etc.) to see her quit the show in Tuesday night’s episode (July 9).

The emotional scenes saw her deciding to walk in order to continue to pursue her relationship with Wil, who had just been dumped following the results of the latest bombshell re-coupling.

But what happened to Uma and Wil after they left the ITV2 show, and are they together now?

In case you need a little recap, Uma and Wil had hit something of a rocky patch following the dramatic events of Casa Amor. Uma had remained loyal to her villa partner, telling the new Casa boys that she was happy with Wil and not looking to have her head turned. Meanwhile, over in the main villa, Wil was exploring a connection with one of the new girls, Lucy.

When it came to decision time however, much to the surprise of Lucy and the Casa girls, Wil opted not to re-couple and declared that he wanted to stick with Uma. Of course, Uma had also remained loyal and walked back into the main villa solo in order to be reunited with her man.

She was thrilled to see him standing on his own, however her happiness was short-lived when details started to emerge about Wil’s antics during the Casa Amor portion of their journey.

This was only made worse when the Love Island Gods arranged for her to have a heart-to-heart with the girl that Wil had been getting to know in her absence, and then worse still when Movie Night (re-branded this year as the Love Island Film Festival) showed the receipts and presented the footage of their flirty chats and a hideaway kiss.

After some heated and emotional discussions, Wil vowed to make things up to Uma. But then two new boys – Josh and Reuben – were thrown into the mix, with the latter having his sights firmly set on Uma. On their group welcome date, Reuben made his intentions with Uma clear and voiced how he thought she had deserved to be treated better.

Uma was honest with Wil that recent events had pushed her to be a bit more open than she would have been previously, but it still seemed quite clear that she wanted Wil to up his game and win back her affections.

But an unfortunately-timed text, which announced that it was time for Josh and Reuben to steal a girl to couple with, pushed Reuben to act on his game plan and choose Uma.

A follow-up text then informed Wil that he was single, and would therefore be dumped immediately. A very tearful Uma quickly announced to the group that she was going to leave too.

“I’m not staying here without him,” she said.

Despite some of the girls encouraging her to really think about that decision, with Jess pointing out that Wil could wait for her on the outside, Uma made it clear that she wanted to leave with him.

Uma and Wil then reconnected for one last chat before leaving, where they each revealed that they were falling for one another.

“Obviously we’re going to continue on the outside,” Uma said. “But it’s just, we don’t even live close…”

“Of course,” Wil replied. “But we’ve already discussed, that isn’t going to stop me at all.”

Are Uma and Wil together now and what happened after Love Island?

After choosing to quit the show to pursue her relationship with Wil, Uma said of her decision: “I knew where my head and heart was at so I wanted to be true to my feelings for him.”

As for their future together, Uma said that they can’t wait to “just do normal things on the outside”, such as “stay inside and have a takeaway and go on cute dates.”

She added, “Wil wants to take me to see where he’s from, but we’ve also discussed him possibly moving to London so I’m looking forward to the future with him. The only way is up from here.”

When asked about his exit, Wil said: “I left with the girl I went in to get. She’s amazing and her leaving proves how much she likes me, so it’s the next step in our journey together.”

He also later added: “I couldn’t be happier with the outcome to be honest. I’ve been in there for three and a half weeks and I’ve left with a girlfriend pretty much.”

Summarising his Love Island experience, Wil said that he’d had “the most amazing journey ever” where he met “friends for life” and has now “left with a potential wife!”

So it sounds like they have left the villa in a very strong place…
