ITV Racing commentator’s moving tribute to John Hunt after ‘heinous act’

ITV Racing commentator Richard Hoiles has given a moving tribute to close friend and BBC counterpart John Hunt.

BBC Five Live commentator Hunt’s wife Carol and two of their daughters, Hannah and Louise, were killed in their home on Tuesday in what police described as a ‘targeted attack’ with a crossbow.

At the start of ITV ’s first racing coverage since the horrific incident, Hoiles gave a personal and emotional tribute to someone he has known for his entire broadcasting career.

“I’ve known John for 30 years, we started out together. And during that time he has become one of the most respected and liked members of the press room. Respected because of his fantastic ability, not just in racing but in other sports such as swimming for the BBC at the Olympics. And liked because of his easygoing personality, good sense of humour.
