The defending champion frowns in frustration as a make-able forehand slumps into the net, but Alcaraz continues to hang around at deuce and chalks up a second chance with a special forehand return winner around the net posts.

Djokovic again resists and survives BPs 3 and 4 before a shocking volley error into the net offers up a fifth that he hands over with a forehand wide to conclude an epic 14-minute opening game.
