‘I found out my son’s classmate has Twilight-inspired name – it’s really bad’
A mum has been left gobsmacked after discovering the name of one of her son’s classmates.
She was picking up her son from daycare when she overheard another parent calling out to their child. Stunned, she listened again to confirm what she had heard before heading to social media to blast the parents for choosing such an “awful” name for their daughter. On Reddit, she posted: “I thought surely my ears were deceiving me until she said it again. The name was Renesmee. Yes, like the alien baby from Twilight Renesmee.”
“I’m still horrified writing this to be honest. Out of all the names from Twilight, she chose the worst one! It’s just so bad. Rosalie, Bella, Alice, Victoria, etc none of those were good enough? I’m sick right now.”

While many users agreed that the name isn’t suitable for a ‘real child’, some commented that they’ve encountered it several times since the release of Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 in 2012, reports the Mirror.
One commenter remarked: “Renesmee was the first name I ever heard/read that was so bad that it stuck with me.”
Another shared: “I also know of a couple who named the oldest Raenesme.”
A third chimed in: “That’s so bad you should call Childline. The worst name on TV.”
Another user chimed in: “I remember thinking it was a name I would have made up in creative writing in elementary school. Yet the name I actually did makeup in fourth grade, which was a combination of my little boyfriend and my own name, isn’t even that bad: Jessamyn. Still bad, but Renesmee is laughably awful.”
A fifth user shared: “I am a middle school counsellor. We have a Renesmee. We also have a family of 4 where all the kids’ middle names are Harry Potter characters and their first names are not better… the last name is also horrible. I wish I could put it on here, but it would be very identifying if anyone in my area read it.”
