The Juliet hitmaker shared some gorgeous peeks of the special day on Instagram as he announced their union.

But, in his caption, he made sure to point out it was only the legal ceremony and that their “actual” wedding will be taking place in August.

Joel wrote: “On Saturday 29th June 2024 we (legally) tied the knot in West Bridgford, Nottingham.

“It was an intimate celebration ahead of our *actual* wedding in August and it was truly the most special day ever. We loved every single second of it.

Shout out to: @emilymarcovecchio (we can’t wait to see the rest!!) @flowers.in.the.wild @bakedbychar_ @amblou_ando90 @gilt_wb @bridgford_hall @shelsees for the video.”

Joel and the Olympian looked smitten in a video which saw them lock lips on the registry office’s steps.

The pair were surrounded by their loved ones, who’d thrown confetti over the newlyweds.

Georgina became the first athlete from Gibraltar to participate in the Olympics when she competed for Team GB in 2012.

Born in Welwyn Garden City, she moved to Gibraltar in 1996, allowing her to represent the country at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

She began training in ballet at age three and later focused on gymnastics, training in Bath, UK, for the Olympics.

Lawson, meanwhile, are a British pop rock band which formed in 2009, consisting of Joel, Andy Brown, Ryan Fletcher and Adam Pitts.

They named the band after Dr. David Lawson, who performed life-saving surgery on Andy.

Their debut album Chapman Square was released in 2012, and they’re known for hits like Standing in the Dark and Taking Over Me.

The band went on hiatus in 2016 but reunited in 2018 to release new music and tour.
