LAS VEGAS — A trio of 20-plus-point efforts spearheaded a dominant offensive performance for the Houston Rockets in a 109-91 victory over the Washington Wizards in an NBA 2K25 Summer League battle at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on Sunday evening.

The Rockets opened what would be a very high-scoring game by Summer League standards running hot, as they amassed 59 first-half points on their way to a 15-point lead at intermission. The Wizards played their best offensive quarter in the third and lopped six points from their deficit in the process, but Houston regrouped on defense in the fourth to hold Washington to 19 points in the final 10 minutes. The Rockets enjoyed a massive 66-40 scoring edge in the paint, shot 47.8 percent and forced 16 turnovers.

Cam Whitmore led the Rockets with 25 points, complementing them with eight rebounds, four assists, five steals and one block. Orlando Robinson generated a 22-point, 15-rebound double-double that included two assists and two steals. Rookie third-overall pick Reed Sheppard turned in 22 points as well, adding seven assists, six rebounds, five steals and one block. Nate Williams and AJ Griffin registered 14 points and 13 points, respectively, while also contributing two rebounds and two assists apiece.

Justin Champagnie paced the Wizards with 19 points, supplementing them with seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal. Rookie 14th overall pick Carlton “Bub” Carrington posted 18 points, five assists and four rebounds. Johnny Davis delivered 15 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Kyshawn George furnished 14 points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. Jules Bernard supplied 12 points, four boards and two assists.

The Rockets next take the floor Monday evening against the Detroit Pistons, while the Wizards face off with the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night.
