Park Masterson Named Women’s Basketball Director of Player Development, Video Coordinator – University of San Diego Athletics

SAN DIEGO – Head coach Cindy Fisher and the San Diego women’s basketball program have rounded out the staff for the 2024-25 season, announcing the hiring of Park Masterson, as the program’s director of player development and video coordinator.

“We are thrilled to add Park to our coaching staff,” said Fisher. “Park grew up in Poway and has been around our program throughout the years. Park is coming off a very successful year at North Dakota State College of Science where she has been the head coach the last two years. She did an outstanding job developing her players and preparing them to compete at a high level in the NJCAA. We are very fortunate to have her join our staff and bring that knowledge and work ethic to our program.”

Masterson joins the Toreros after spending three years at the North Dakota State College of Science, most recently for the past two seasons as the program’s head coach and director of fundraising and marketing.

“I’m incredibly grateful to Coach Fisher for trusting me to join her staff,” said Masterson. “It’s a true privilege to be part of a coaching staff and team with such a rich history and winning tradition at the University of San Diego. I can’t wait to hit the ground running and start making a positive impact!”

Masterson comes to San Diego after finding success at the junior college level with North Dakota State College of Science. Under her watch, the Wildcats went 58-12, reaching three NJCAA Division I National Championships and recorded the first win for the program at the event in school history. Masterson guided the program to two, Sweet 16 appearances, as well as three North Central District and Region XIII titles. For her efforts, Masterson was named the 2024 Region and District Coach of the Year, as well as a sweep of 2023 Conference, Region and District coach of the Year awards.

In her time at NDSCS, Masterson has helped 35 players sign letters of intent at four-year universities, with several going on to play at the Division I level. All her accomplishments were magnified by her additional roles as the director of athletic fundraising and marketing, as well as a stint as the sports information director for the school.

Masterson joins newcomer Ryan Yablonsky as additions to Fisher’s staff for the 2024-25 season, which is slated to start in early November.
