A heartwarming video shows the moment Princess Charlotte beamed up at her mum, Princess Kate, as she made her second official appearance this year at Wimbledon.

The Princess of Wales visited the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club where she watched the men’s singles final between Novak Djokovic and 21-year-old winner Carlos Alcaraz. It was an emotional comeback for Kate who is currently being treated for cancer.

Kate was met with a huge round of applause and a standing ovation from the Centre Court crowd as she entered the esteemed Royal Box. It is just Kate’s second official appearance of the year after she made her first last month during King Charles III‘s birthday parade.

And for the touching moment, Kate was accompanied by her nine-year-old daughter Charlotte and sister Pippa Middleton. While the trio make their way to sit in the royal box, Charlotte’s adorable reaction to Kate’s reception from the crowd is captured on the video. She grins up to her mother, who smiles and waves to the crowd before they went on to watch Alcaraz breeze past 37-year-old Djokovic in three sets.

The beautiful moment was caught by the Wimbledon photographers, including Karwai Tang, who spoke about what he captured. “When [Kate] usually comes in, she walks down the steps and into her seat. She doesn’t normally stand and wave,” he explained to People. “But she stood for a while and took it all in.

“For her to acknowledge it and take in the applause was special. She seemed to look no different from the last Wimbledon. It felt like she is back. For them to cheer and clap when they came in was a great support for her. Wimbledon had been waiting with bated breath for her to return, and she was back.”

Of Charlotte’s bright smile up to her mother, Tang said: “[Charlotte] skipped down the stairs and when she got back to her seat—she was laughing. She leaned over and must have told her mom what it was about, and they were giggling together and having a good old laugh.”

Djokovic also issued a kind tribute to Kate, who is a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, saying: “Yes, it was of course a privilege to be in her presence again. I’ve said to her that it is very nice to see her in good health. She seems to be in good health.
