Technical dairy journalist
Agriland Media Group has a vacancy for a technical reporter interested in a career in media that covers the dairy sector.
Candidates should hold an agricultural science (or related) qualification and some post-college experience (in industry) is desirable.
The role will include working as part of a team in a fast-paced digital news environment.
Reporting to the editor, the successful candidate will have to track trends; forge relationships with farmers and industry stakeholders and work closely with other technical journalists.
The successful applicant, who should have a full driving licence and their own transport, will develop the ability to proof, fact-check and quality-check written and broadcast content.
Agri-commercial manager
Lisavaird Co-op is currently recruiting for an agri-commercial manager. This role will involve being responsible for managing a portfolio of agri-businesses, including:
- Oversight of the co-ops milling activity;
- Sources of cereal and ingredient purchases for the mill;
- All commercials around the sale of livestock feeds;
- Advice to farmers on herd health, and more.
The successful candidate will manage the sourcing of cereal and ingredient purchases for the mill and all commercials around the sale of livestock feeds.
They will also oversee animal nutrition advice, the sale of agri-products including fertiliser, seeds and sprays and advice to farmers on herd health, nutrient management plans and farm services.
Candidates for the position should hold a degree in agriculture, animal science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
They should also have over seven years’ experience in an agricultural or farming business environment, with a focus on the sales of animal feed and farm inputs.
Organic farm manager
Rock Farm Slane is looking for working farm manager to oversee its mixed organic farm enterprise including beef, pig, poultry and vegetables.
The produce from the farm is sold in the farmers market and restaurants on the Slane Castle Estate.
The farm manager, who will have an annual salary between €30,000-40,000 will be a hands-on position responsible for feeding, animal welfare, fencing, sourcing and working with contractors.
They will also have to ensure compliance with standards, quality assurance, maintain animal, plant and feeding records, along with planning and management of grant funding and agricultural schemes.
Technical sales representative
Also among the jobs on offer this week, is a technical sales representative role with Tullamore Agri Supplies Ltd.
The independent agri-merchant has a number of retail outlets in the Offaly catchment area.
The successful candidate will be self motivated, enthusiastic and highly organised with a strong ability to maintain and develop relationships with new and existing customers while being able to meet targets.
The successful candidates requires a minimum level 7 in an agriculture related degree, with a level 8 agricultural degree being a distinct advantage.
Sales advisors
Agritech, a manufacturer and supplier of high quality, innovative and specialist nutrition and forage products, is currently hiring full time sales advisors.
The positions will be based in counties Waterford; Cork; Westmeath; Roscommon and Galway.

Feed mill plant operative
De Paor Consultancy is currently recruiting for a compound feed miller based in the midland for feed mill plant operatives.
Due to the planned retirement of some existing staff they are recruiting two plant operatives for their hi tech modern plant.
The ideal candidates will be from the greater Longford area, have a good agricultural college education or Green Cert, be IT literate with an interest in livestock, animal nutrition and feed manufacturing.
Operatives will be provided with full in-house training in house and mentoring.
Logistics manager
Among several jobs currently advertised by genetics company Dúnmasc Genetics is for a logistics manager.
This role will suit someone who has strong organisational skills and attention to detail, along with previous experience in a similar role.
Candidates for the full-time position should have experience working within the agricultural sector.
Living within reasonable proximity to Portlaoise, Co. Laois would be an advantage.
