Van Rysel’s RCR Pro Replica bike is available again after previously selling out in minutes

The team-edition of Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale’s Van Rysel RCR Pro bike has been made available once again, having previously sold out within minutes of being made available to pre-order in April.

The bike has made a splash in the WorldTour peloton since being officially unveiled in November at the same time that Decathlon, which owns Van Rysel, stepped in as title sponsors and bike suppliers for the AG2R La Mondiale Team. With it, the French brand unveiled a range of new bikes, including the RCR Pro which is the sole machine that the WorldTour team uses for races.

It has proven to be incredibly effective at its job as the team has already racked up 23 wins in the 2024 season, its highest number since its 24 victories in 2015, and more than the previous two seasons combined. Two of those victories came at the recent Giro d’Italia courtesy of Valentin Paret-Peintre and Andrea Vendrame.

That WorldTour success was mirrored away from professional cycling in April when the bike sold out within minutes of going on sale. According to Road.cc, only 15 bikes were made available across the six sizes, so it isn’t too surprising that the scramble was short-lived. It could be the same case again as, according to the Van Rysel website at the time of writing, only seven models are available, and some of the sizes have already sold out once again.

Each of the sizes is available for £9,000, which proved to be one of the bike’s main talking points when it was first unveiled, as it significantly undercuts most of its WorldTour competition by thousands of pounds. That cost cutting clearly hasn’t come at the cost of performance, at least judging by its early WorldTour success, and Van Rysel hasn’t had to scrimp on components, either.

Like the bike used by the team, it is available with Shimano’s top-tier Dura-Ace groupset and Hadron 500 wheels from aerodynamic experts Swiss Side. Add in an overall aerodynamic design combined with a claimed total weight of 6.9kg, and the RCR Pro Replica certainly appears to pack plenty of performance.

In addition to the team-edition model, Van Rysel also offers the RCR Pro in a standard version at a low price-point with the second-tier Ultegra Di2 groupset from Shimano or the Force AXS groupset from SRAM.
