Friday horse racing tips from Ed Quigley: 1-2-3 for Epsom Oaks

Top Tipster and Broadcaster, Ed ‘Longshot Ted’ Quigley has been banging in the winners recently, and is back with his verdict for the Epsom Classic on Friday…

Epsom is upon us, as we are treated to two days of stellar action this Friday and Saturday as we are firmly in Classic season.

The Oaks takes centre stage on Friday afternoon in what should be a cracking contest.

Purely on what they have achieved so far, FOREST FAIRY would be a little way below some of the others strictly on figures, but she boasts an unbeaten record, and looks to be an individual full of potential.

She arrives on the back of bolting up in a Wolverhampton novice on debut, and then when thrown into Listed company on her second start, she got the job done in the Cheshire Oaks.

It feels like we haven’t scratched the surface with her yet, and she should have plenty more to offer. On paper, her pedigree suggests that if we have any cut in the ground it won’t be an issue, and with the Ralph Beckett team in fine fettle lately and Forest Fairy gets the each-way nod from me.

YLANG YLANG is bound to improve stepping up to 1m4f for the first time, and the Ballydoyle representative ran very much like a stayer when fifth in the 1000 Guineas, and her pedigree very much suggests that she will only get better as her stamina is drawn out.

Ryan Moore will likely be taking the ride on Aidan O’Brien first string, and it is hard to knock her out of the frame at the business end of proceedings and looks the biggest threat to all in this encounter.

As for something at a much bigger price to run well, SECRET SATIRE fits the bill. She will need to settle better over this longer trip, but she was impressive when winning the Musidor at York last time out.

The form of that race is working out when, so it would be far from a shock to see this individual run well for the in form combination of Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy.

Of the remainder, Irish raiders Ezeliya and Rubies Are Red both command plenty of respect in what should be a spellbinding contest on the Downs.
