Normal People stars Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones tease new project as pair reunite

Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones sent Normal People fans into a frenzy on Tuesday night as the pair teased an upcoming project.

In a photo posted to her Instagram stories, Edgar-Jones told her followers that she and Maynooth man Paul Mescal have “some news to share”, urging them to “watch this space”.

The teaser was part of a picture of the two actors smiling together and holding up peace signs to the camera.

The pair starred in the 2020 TV series, Normal People which was adapted from Sally Rooney’s novel of the same name.

Element Pictures, who produced Normal People, also reshared the post to their own Instagram account, leading fans to speculate that there may be more to come from the popular series.

Normal People launched Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones into stardom, making them household names as viewers across the world tuned in to observe their characters Marianne and Connell and their complicated relationship.

“Work takes all that pressure away,” he said at the time. “Being busy, and I know that’s probably not sustainable – but it kind of is to a certain extent. The pair have been friends ever since they filmed the series and recently reunited at Fastnet Film Festival in Schull in West Cork.
