Emmerdale’s Belle King makes return as Tom’s dog plot continues

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Belle King has made a return to Dale Head as Tom’s sick plot involving her dog Piper continues in Emmerdale.

Earlier this week, Tom enacted his ploy to bring his wife home from a mental health assessment centre where she’d been staying after a traumatic few weeks.

Tom convinced Lydia Dingle to tell Belle that her dog Piper has been sick, even though he’d been poisoning her with dodgy injections all along.

Wednesday’s (May 29) episode opened with Tom leaving Lydia a voicemail, encouraging her to tell Belle to “expect the worst” when it came to Piper’s health.

He then turned to Piper to warn the dog that Belle had one hour to come home, or he’d finish her off for good.

“You won’t feel a thing this time,” Tom callously threatened the pup.

Just before he was about to proceed with his sick plan, Belle rushed through the door to check on Piper.

“It’s okay, mummy’s home,” Belle assured her dog.

The soap cut back to Dale Head later on, where Belle was pleased to see that Piper was making a recovery.

“I could put [her recovery] down to my excellent care, but I think maybe, it’s because you’re home,” Tom manipulatively told Belle.

When Tom asked Belle if she was planning to return to the assessment unit, she hesitantly announced she’d be staying at Dale Head.

“I don’t think I need to go back,” Belle said.

Tom made Belle feel guilty for not letting him visit the assessment center, though she stopped short of telling him about what she’d learned from her therapy sessions.

Belle planned on visiting Lydia to explain why she’d come home, before Tom brought up Piper’s frail condition

A conflicted Belle then decided to scrap the visit, saying: “I just want to be with you [Tom] and Piper.”

Will Belle discover the truth about Tom’s evil plot?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
