Nominations Announced for 2024 LTA Tennis Awards, presented by Lexus
On 2 July we will be revealing the ultimate winners of the 2024 LTA Tennis Awards, presented by Lexus, but first we have the details of all of our amazing nominees.
The awards champion the people and venues throughout our sport that go above and beyond so tennis thrives.
The names were selected from more than 2,200 nominations across 16 different categories. The nominees have all been acknowledged for their outstanding contribution to tennis in 2023.
To help us decide on the national winners, we invited professionals from across sport and other sectors to sit on our judging panels. This included LTA colleagues, elite players, officials and former award winners to journalists, politicians and our sponsors along with representatives from charities and governing bodies.
Organisations included: Association for Physical Education, CORE Education Trust, Sport England, SportsAid, Lexus, the LTA Tennis Foundation, AELTC and others.
We were also helped by experts including tennis coach Judy Murray, sports broadcaster, Anne-Marie Batson, journalist and presenter Natasha Kaplinsky, Paralympian Louise Hunt Skelley, current British No.1 women’s wheelchair tennis player Lucy Shuker and one of the most recognisable chair umpires on the world stage James Keothavong.
Jess Downs, Workforce Support Manager, looks after the awards at the LTA. She said: “I’d like to thank all the judges that gave us their time to sit on the panels. In many of the categories, it was extremely hard for the judging panels to narrow down the nominees as the levels set were so high. This just underlines just how many amazing people we have in tennis. ‘’
“It’s been empowering to collaborate with individuals and organisations that cover the length and breadth of the sport. We are so pleased that so many people are as passionate as we are in highlighting the incredible individuals and fabulous venues that make our sport so enjoyable.’’
