Dream Chelsea transfer window after Michael Olise signs under Enzo Maresca
It is about to be another summer dominated by changes at Stamford Bridge. Enzo Maresca is set to be appointed as the new Chelsea head coach on a five-year contract in the near future.
football.london understands the Italian was ‘extremely impressive’ during conversations with Behdad Eghbali and the two co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley. Maresca was part of a shortlist but emerged as the first-choice candidate after being interviewed for the head coach role.
Maresca is set to inherit a squad that achieved a sixth-place finish in the Premier League last season under Mauricio Pochettino. The Blues finished the campaign with five successive victories to ensure European football for the 2024/25 campaign.
Chelsea’s attacking players really came to the fore in the final stages of the season to help secure a place in Europe. However, the club are still looking at ways to improve their attack in the upcoming summer transfer window. And with that being said, football.london takes a look at what a dream window might look like for the Blues and Maresca.
Sesko signs
Chelsea are big admirers of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig ahead of the summer window. football.london understands the Blues watched the 20-year-old striker on numerous occasions last term and were impressed with what they witnessed.
Sesko has a contract at the Red Bull Arena that runs until the summer of 2028 after making the common move from RB Salzburg to Leipzig less than 12 months ago. The Slovenian forward scored an impressive 18 goals in all competitions throughout the 2023/24 campaign in what was his debut season in Germany.

It is no secret that Chelsea are looking at signing a new centre-forward. Nicolas Jackson impressed during his debut season with the club but there was too much of an over reliance on the 22-year-old to produce because of injuries elsewhere.
Chelsea can no longer afford to rely on Jackson as much as they did. Instead, the Senegalese forward should be given time to develop – as he showed more than enough signs of his talent under Pochettino last term.
Olise arrives
Michael Olise is someone that has been on Chelsea’s radar for some time now. The 22-year-old winger is still believed to be catching the attention from senior figures at the Blues, although a move for him – at this stage – is deemed unlikely, football.london understands.
Olise looks likely to leave Crystal Palace this summer despite signing a new contract at Selhurst Park less than a year ago, but there are set to be a queue of clubs interested in the winger’s services. A staggering 16 direct goal involvements in 19 Premier League matches last season – 10 goals and six assists – has made him one of the most sought-after talents in English football right now.
If Chelsea could pull the deal off, then it would be an incredible piece of business for the Blues, albeit they will have to be mindful of Olise and his injury record. They are not short of wingers by any means but bringing Olise adds a serious goal threat and a player that would suit Maresca’s way of attacking.
Nkunku fit
Christopher Nkunku endured a nightmare debut season for Chelsea. The France international, signed for £52million from RB Leipzig last summer, played just 14 times in all competitions for the Blues throughout the 2023/24 campaign.
There is so much excitement and anticipation around Nkunku still, with the 26-year-old remaining a largely unknown quantity to most supporters. The best thing for Nkunku and Chelsea this summer is for the Frenchman to stay fit and complete a full pre-season with the club.
If he can do that, then he will be in the best possible condition for the time the opening match of the season rolls around in August. A big, big season for Nkunku.
