Doireann in tears after co-host’s share funny surprise before FINAL day on 2FM
RTE star Doireann Garrihy was left in floods of tears after her 2FM co- hosts shared a hysterical surprise just before her FINAL day on air.
The popular radio host revealed earlier this month that she’s leaving the 2FM Breakfast Show after five years.
Doireann is set to air her final show on 2FM tomorrow morning from 6am to 9am.
On today’s show, the emotions were high as the 32-year-old’s co-hosts Carl Mullan and Donncha O’Callaghan gave her a hilarious send-off.
The dynamic trio often play a fun segment on the show called Claire Byrne’s Bin.
Before the game begins, the presenters will usually play a short jingle which was written by Doireann.

However, this morning, Carl told Doireann that they had “organised for a new version” of the Claire Byrne’s Bin theme song to be recorded.
He added: “We have it here now and Doireann, we want to show it to you now because we would love for you to give it your blessing.”
The funny man then began to introduce the new theme song saying it was “a world premiere on 2FM”.
A full choir could be heard singing the new version of the Claire Byrne’s Bin song, which add a dramatic effect to the original lyrics.

Doireann immediately got up out of her seat and put her hand over her mouth.
Carl hilariously started dancing and snapping to the beat, causing Doireann to erupt into fits of laughter.
As the choir continued to sing the song, Doireann put her head in her hands on the desk.
She then got back up and dropped her jaw, totally speechless.
Once the new theme tune had finished playing Carl and Donncha began to scream “she’s crying!”.
As the camera panned to Doireann she had tears rolling down her cheeks and was completely red-faced.
She then hysterically remarked: “Why am I crying?” and let out a big laugh.
Everyone in the studio was in fits of laughter as Doireann was bent over crying at the song.
Carl chuckled as he said: “I can’t believe this is what set you off.”
As Doireann composed herself and wiped away her tears she said: “That was absolutely brilliant, I can’t believe a full choir was singing my lyrics. It’s amazing it has my full blessing.”
Donncha then chuckled: “I can’t believe we got full on tears.”
And fans and friends ran to the Instagram comments to laugh about the hilarious moment.
Sharon wrote: “Love it. I’m gonna miss the craic you three have every morning.”
