EastEnders heartthrob lands new TV job 11 years after soap exit and normal job
AN EASTENDERS heartthrob has been spotted in his first TV role 11 years after his soap exit.
BBC viewers may recognise the actor who shot to national fame in the noughties in Walford’s Moon family.
During his two years on the BBC soap his storylines saw him embroiled in a love triangle with Shona McGarty‘s character Whitney and nearly suffering a fatal seizure after a boxing match.
And ten years after he left Eastenders fans were stunned to discover he was juggling two jobs.
Before finding fame as Tyler Moon actor Tony Discipline was working as a porter in a fish market.
After leaving EastEnders the actor worked as a firefighter and a barman – and told The Sun he couldn’t be happier.
“I love it,” he said of his job in the fire service.
“Every day is different and you feel you’re helping your community.
“It can be quite dangerous but you’re trained to deal with those situations.”
Tony grew up on a council estate in Gravesend, Kent, and his first job was at his dad’s market stall.
While he had no interest in drama at school, he said work on the stalls was “like a theatre in itself”.
“You’re there upfront selling things – maybe that gave me an interest subconsciously without me knowing,” he recalled.
He’s now set to return to screens in BBC drama Doctors.
Tony plays David Marsden who is looking for his wife Luella.
The couple are going through a marital crises when they turn up at The Mill in distress.
The eipsode is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
