Mobile Travel Agents national conference opens in Fiji – Travel Weekly
The Mobile Travel Agents national conference has opened at the picturesque Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort in Denarau, with a packed opening agenda on Day 1.
More than 330 travel professionals from across Australia gathered for the conference, themed ‘Celebrate the Journey’, to explore the evolving landscape of the travel industry and strategies for adaptation and growth.
It marks the first national gathering for MTA since 2020 and the inaugural occasion of hosting the event overseas, highlighting the organization’s commitment to innovation and collaboration.
Hosted by Jessica Watson OAM, MTA brand ambassador and the youngest person to sail solo and unassisted around the world, the conference included a panel hosted by Michael Londregan.
The panel, on ‘Success can be defined differently depending on the stage of your business. What tips can you share for building a successful business?’ included MTA travel advisors Linda Rossi (WA), Nadia Murphy (NSW), Suzanne Baker (WA), Wendy Gunther (Qld) and Sue Barton (NSW).
MTA also welcomed Dr. Joanne Orlando, a distinguished international researcher, social commentator, and futurist, as the keynote speaker for the conference. Dr. Orlando is renowned for her groundbreaking work in changing our relationship with technology, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI).
Dean Long, CEO of Australian Travel Industry Association, also showcased the revised industry body which has a renewed focus on helping mobile travel agents.
