Man, 30s, dies after being struck by car in Co Clare
A pedestrian in his 30s has died after having been struck by a car in Co Clare in the early hours of this morning.
It happened on the N18 at Portdrine at around 4am.
The man was brought to University Hospital Limerick following the incident, where he later died.
The road remains closed this afternoon to facilitate a forensic examination, and local diversions are in place.
Arrangements are to be made for a post-mortem examination, and the local coroner has been notified.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward, and have urged any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling in the area at the time to make it available to gardaí.
