Barry Keoghan lined up for film with ‘shades of Heat’
It is reported that Barry Keoghan is in negotiations to join Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo in an adaptation of author Don Winslow’s novella Crime 101.
US entertainment trade publication Deadline reports that the film’s writer-director is Bart Layton, who previously worked with Keoghan on 2018’s American Animals.
“While plot details are being kept under wraps, the original short story by Winslow has shades of Heat as it follows high-level jewel thefts that are taking place up and down the Pacific Coast, which police have linked to Colombian cartels,” says Deadline.
“Detective Lou Lubesnick has other ideas, and he zeroes in on one perp, a thief looking for a final score.”
Keoghan’s new film, the Andrea Arnold-directed Bird, recently received its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
