RTE Daithi O’Se shares family surprise as star spends birthday at home

RTE star Daithi O’Se has shared a sweet family moment this week as the presenter as he celebrated his birthday at home.

The Today Show star spent precious time with his wife Rita Talty and their son Mícheál as the trio marked the occasion at their abode over the June bank holiday weekend.

On Sunday, June 2, Daithi shared the sweet surprise that was waiting for him on the first morning of his 48th year.

The star was treated to a big birthday cake created specially by his family as it read ”Happy Birthday Dad’ in chocolate on top with a games console perched on top.

Daithi shared a photo of the touching birthday surprise on social media as he captioned the photo ‘What a start to the day!’

In another photo he shared a hilarious photo of a ‘recycled’ birthday poster that read ‘Happy 48th Birthday’, with the numbers changed from the last year it was used.

He laughed: “Recycled sign…can’t beat it!”

Despite having a beloved base in Galway, Daithi is a Kerry man through and through as proved by the next photo of Kerry GAA jerseys with the caption: “Sorting today’s outfit…”

Meath are set to host Kerry on Sunday in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship as the round-robin stage reaches its second round of fixtures this weekend.

Last year saw Daithi celebrate his birthday out west as the star was again treated to a lovely surprise on the big day.

The Today Show presenter was welcomed to his 47th year with a sweet gesture from his wife and children to mark the occasion.

In a post on Instagram, the presenter shared a picture of his kitchen decorated by his beloved family to celebrate his 47th year.

Daithi woke up on June 2 to find the kitchen island strewn with cards, presents and a banner as well as a plate of mini chocolate rolls, not forgetting the requisite birthday candles.

He captioned the sweet photo: “Nice way to wake up on a summer’s morning!”
