  • Bernard Tomic has ‘couple’s quarrel’ with girlfriend
  • Aussie abandons tennis match during second set
  • Couple have made eye-catching move since the spat

Bernard Tomic and his influencer girlfriend have shut fans out of their social media platforms after the couple sensationally argued during a match the Aussie star quit soon afterwards.

Tomic retired mid-match from an ATP Challengers event after getting into a bizarre spat with his Gold Coast influencer girlfriend Keely Hannah while on the court last Saturday.

Now, both Tomic and Hannah have made huge changes to their Instagram accounts following their on-court argument.

Tomic has been battling on the Challengers circuit for years to resurrect his flagging tennis career.

Once ranked 17th in the world, Tomic hasn’t been inside the top-100 rankings since August 2019 and fell as low as number 825 in the world in 2022.

The 31-year-old has been grinding his way back up the rankings and currently sits at 247 in the world.

He had also won seven out of his last eight matches before the shock retirement on the weekend.

Tomic confirmed his relationship with Hannah in 2022 after his split from former Love Island contestant Vanessa Sierra.

The blonde-locked Gold Coast influencer has travelled the world with Tomic and shared numerous loved up messages and images with the tennis star.

Now, Tomic has deactivated his Instagram account completely, while Hannah has locked her profile so only approved followers can see her content.

Tomic struggled against Japan’s Yuta Shimizu at the Little Rock Open in Arkansas.

Tomic went down 6-1 in the first set, looking extremely distracted and disinterested throughout.

It was an uncomfortable moment for fans

The former junior world No. 1 also complained of illness during the match, calling for medical attention several times.

‘I haven’t seen him move for a single ball and he is missing literally everything,’ tennis writer Zachary Cohen posted on X.

‘He had the doctors out and told them his girlfriend tested positive for Covid this morning.’

Before the second set started, the Aussie became involved in a tiff with Hannah, who was seated in the stands.

‘Bernard and his girlfriend just continuing to argue,’ the ATP Challengers commentator said.

‘The long and short of it, Bernie saying, “You tested positive for COVID today”, girlfriend saying, “No, that was two weeks ago”.

‘I did not anticipate having to commentate a couple’s quarrel here – but here we are.

‘Either way, uncomfortable for all the fans here, who are just wanting to see a little bit of tennis tonight, but I don’t know that they’re going to get it.’

Commentators described the bizarre scenes on court between Tomic and Hannah (pictured together) as ‘awkward’
Tomic eventually retired from the match in the second set due to illness

Tomic elected to retire from the match and later tested positive to COVID.

‘All right, that does it. So, retiring due to illness is Bernard Tomic,’ the commentator announced.

‘Well, that’s a very awkward way to end, and a rather ‘Bernie’ way to end, isn’t it? Tough way to go out.

‘Tomic now, we’ll see if he’s able to recover. And again, how the heck did he win that match a couple of days ago?’
