McGregor and Chandler were set to speak to the media yesterday evening in the Irishman’s hometown of Dublin.

But at 5am that morning, the press conference was shockingly cancelled as the UFC apologised to fans.

They said that they were hoping to provide a “new date and time” as soon as possible.

McGregor has now broke his silence on the news but didn’t reveal why the press conference was axed.

He said: “In consultation with the UFC, today’s press conference was cancelled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control.

“I apologise to my Irish fans, and fans around the world, for the inconvenience and appreciate all your passion and support.

“I can’t wait to put on the greatest all-time show in the octagon.”

McGregor, who has not had a fight since losing to Dustin Poirier three years ago, has regularly been spotted partying in the build-up to his comeback clash.
