Former Chicago Bears RB announces retirement from NFL | Sporting News

Former Chicago Bears running back Ryan Nall took to social media on Monday evening to announce his retirement from the NFL.

A former undrafted free-agent signing of the Bears, Nall appeared in 33 games over three seasons with Chicago and tallied six carries for 12 yards and nine receptions for 71 yards and one touchdown.

“You never think it’s time until it is,” Nall wrote on social media. “I’m retiring from the game of football. Thank you all for the love and support over the years.”

A yearly preseason standout and fan-favorite during his career, Nall was a special teams contributor on top of his backup running back duties. His best game came in 2020, when he finished with four catches for 35 yards in a loss to the Tennessee Titans.

After his Bears stint ended, Nall landed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022 but didn’t make the roster. He then tried his hand in the United Football League with the Houston Roughnecks in 2024 but didn’t make the cut there, either.

Prior to his NFL career, Nall played his college ball at Oregon State. His best year came in 2016, when he posted 951 rushing yards, 169 receiving yards, and 15 total touchdowns.
