Jennifer Zamparelli could be snapped up by Virgin Media to fill Ireland AM slot

Ex-2FM star Jennifer Zamparelli could be snapped up by Virgin Media bosses as Grainne Seoige leaves Ireland AM.

Grainne announced on Tuesday she would be leaving Ireland AM “for a while”. And now, bookies Ladbrokes reckon Jennifer could be set to join the Ballymount-based station.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Following the shock news of Jennifer Zamparelli’s exit from 2FM and now Grainne Seoige’s departure from Ireland AM, punters are confident that Jennifer could be the ideal replacement.” Jennifer has been chalked up at just 2/1 to join Virgin Media by the end of the year.

It comes just days after Grainne announced she would be leaving Ireland AM to host their Irish-speaking Love Island-style show Gra Ar An Tra. The Galway native – who fronted the programme every Friday, Saturday and Sunday alongside Martin King and Síomha Ní Ruairc – confirmed the news on her Instagram on Tuesday but hinted at an eventual return.

She said: “And just like that my last weekend for a while on Ireland AM is done! Síómha Ní Ruairc and myself are heading off to An Ghaeltacht to make season 2 of Gra Ar An Tra with James Kavanagh.” She continued: “Thank you to everyone on the Ireland AM team, it’s been a pure joy and especially to Martin King ‘fantastic’.”

Grá ar an Trá is s dating programme now in its second season which follows 12 love-seekers as they attempt to learn the Irish language, with only one of each couple a fluent speaker. Six men and six women compete to couple up and win a €10,000 prize, along with being crowned ‘Couple with the most Focail’.
