The Army bomb squad and gardaí are currently attending an incident on Fairview Strand following reports of a suspicious device. The road is closed to all road users between Richmond Road and Philipsburgh Avenue.




LiveDrive on Dublin City FM reports there are delays on Grace Park Road and East Wall. Annesley Bridge Rd inbound is closed to cars.

Crash in Smithfield causes delays

A crash on Church St in Smithfield is causing delays this evening. The street is closed between Mary’s Lane and North King Street as gardai manage the collision, LiveDrive on Dublin City FM reports.

Disruption to Dublin Bus services due to ongoing incident at Fairview Strand

Dublin Bus route 123 will only be operating to Parnell Square and Walkinstown as the buses are unable to serve Marino until further notice.

Bomb squad at scene at Fairview Strand following reports of a suspicious device

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: “Gardaí are currently in attendance at a scene in the Fairview Strand area of Dublin 3 today, Thursday, 6th of June 2024 following reports of a suspicious device.

A cordon has been put in place and the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit are in attendance.

“Road closures have been put in place between Fairview Strand and Richmond Road, as well as between Fairview Strand and Phillipsburgh Avenue. No further information is available at this time.”

Delays of 30 minutes around Fairview Strand

LiveDrive on Dublin City FM reports that Fairview Strand is now closed to all road users between Richmond Road and Windsor Avenue (Eurospar) and there are delays of 30 minutes all around.

Gardaí are temporarily allowing cars to turn left from Fairview onto Annesley Bridge Rd.

Gardaí are currently attending an incident on Fairview Strand and the road is closed to all road users between Richmond Road and Philipsburgh Avenue, LiveDrive on Dublin City FM reports.

There are delays on Grace Park Road and East Wall. Annesley Bridge Rd inbound is closed to cars.

4:15pm traffic update

There is a broken down lorry on the M50 northbound at Junction 7 Lucan in the hard shoulder. There are delays of 20 minutes from Junction 12 Firhouse.

There are also delays of 40 minutes approaching The Point roundabout from Sandymount. Traffic is moving well across the rest of the city, LiveDrive on Dublin City FM reports.
