Third man charged in relation to Clondalkin murder of Josip Strok

A man aged in his 40’s who was arrested on Thursday in relation to murder of Josip Strok and the serious assault of his friend in Clondalkin earlier this year has been charged.

The 31-year-old from Croatia suffered head injuries after an incident at Grange View Way in Clondalkin on March 30 and his friend David Družinec was injured during the same incident. On April 3, Mr Strok died of his injuries in Tallaght Hospital.



Three males were arrested as part of the investigation in April. Two were charged with Mr Strok’s murder and the other was released without charge.

A garda spokeswoman this afternoon: “Gardaí investigating the murder of Josip Strok and a serious assault on a man which occurred in Clondalkin, Dublin 22 on 30th March 2024, have charged the man who was arrested yesterday, Thursday 6th June 2024.

“The man (aged in his 40s) is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon, Friday 7th June 2024. Investigations are ongoing.”
