Punter turns £2 bet into nearly £190,000 after including 100-1 winner in acca

A punter has stunned the bookies by turning a £2 bet into almost £190,000 by including a 100-1 winner in his selections.

The William Hill customer enjoyed the amazing run of luck at Chelmsford’s eight-race fixture on Thursday evening. His picks included Royal Praise, sent off at a three-figure price after finishing last of 12 on its previous start with Hollie Doyle riding.

There was also another Ed Dunlop-trained horse involved, 18-1 shot Philos. Owned by the Newmarket trainer, Teofilo’s son was another to bounce back to form on the all-weather, having trailed by 16 lengths at Yarmouth.

Both horses scored by less than a length, but there was even better to come with two Charlie Johnston performers.

Billy Loughnane drove Candle Of Dubai (5-1) clear of her Bet Boost At bet365 EBF “Confined” Fillies’ Novice Stakes opposition by two-and-a-half lengths.

Then it was over to 4-1 stablemate Wadacre Gomez, a runner in the Leading Environmental Solutions Handicap. Another for Loughnane, the prominent racer started brightly and managed to fend off Lord Protector by half-a-length.

The punter, whose £2 Lucky 15 consisted of four singles, six doubles, four trebles and a fourfold accumulator costing £30 in total, scooped £188,493.80.

The duty manager at the William Hill shop in Wakefield said: “He’s a regular and a really nice bloke. He usually has £1 Lucky 15s but for whatever reason he chose to double his stake.
