Zverev could become just the eighth man to win Rome and then Roland-Garros in the same year in the Open Era.

A victory today would also cap a full-circle journey for the German.

Back in 2022 he was locked in a semi-final battle with Rafael Nadal on this very court and in the sort of form that had him threatening to become the World No.1.

However, an unfortunate ankle injury saw him leave Chatrier in a wheel chair and he has been on a path of recovery since then, slowly finding his best tennis.

Two years on, could he be about to end his long-wait for a maiden major at the scene of one of his worst tennis moments?
