Woman dies in Co Meath road crash

A woman in her 60s has died in a single-vehicle road crash in Co Meath in the early hours of this morning.

The crash occurred at around 1am on Main Street in Ratoath.

The driver of the car, who was travelling alone, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman’s body has been removed to Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Main Street in Ratoath remains closed for a technical examination of the scene and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Main Street area of Ratoath between 12.45am and 1am to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on 01 8010600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
