‘F***ing disgrace’: Bogut, Giddey vent fury as Aussie Olympics basketball jersey savaged

Australian basketball great Andrew Bogut questioned whether the Boomers and Opals’ Olympics jerseys were designed by blind musician Stevie Wonder as players aired their frustrations over the singlet.

The jersey is once again designed by Asics and is predominantly yellow with green trim around the neck and arm holes along with Indigenous patterns on the side panel designed by Paul Fleming.

Australia is featured on the front as well as the Southern Cross.

However, reaction to the singlet has been rather fierce.

On an Instagram post, several Boomers past and present voiced their displeasure at the uniform they will wear in Paris.

Oklahoma City Thunder star Josh Giddey wrote: “lol absolute joke”.

Jock Landale posted: “Looks like we are off to throw a javelin”.

Bogut, one of the biggest names in Australian basketball, wrote: “AOC had Stevie Wonder do the uniforms.”

Queensland Basketball League player Matthew Adekponya added: “Boys about to compete in the decathlon”.
