New restaurant ‘The Glass Door’ opening ‘very soon’ for small Galway village

A small Galway town is set to welcome a brand new restaurant in the very near future, a new post on the business’s Facebook page has confirmed.

Locals in Kinvara can look forward to a brand new restaurant called The Glass Door which they have confirmed will be “opening very soon.”




The business has been busy looking for new staff to join the team including wait staff and kitchen help on both a full-time and part-time basis.

While Kinvara is set to welcome this brand-new restaurant, another town in the west is set to bid farewell to a beloved shop that has served its local community for nearly four decades.

Kelly’s Foodstore will close one final time on June 28 much to the disappointment of the local community in Carrick On Shannon.

In an emotional statement, the owners Martin and Teresa Kelly thanked all the suppliers who they worked with for the past 36 years as well as their amazing staff down through the years. They also had a special thank you for their customers who have walked through their doors through the years. But the time has come for the pair to step away and as they say in their statement: “the time has come for us to say farewell and move on.”
